Craniosacral Therapy

What is cranio?

Craniosacral therapy (cranio) is a gentle yet profoundly effective form of bodywork rooted in osteopathy. The term is derived from cranium (skull) and sacrum (tailbone) . The skull and sacrum are connected by the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Within this system, cerebrospinal fluid circulates in regular cycles. This subtle rhythm is transmitted throughout the entire body and provides valuable insights for therapeutic work on a structural and/or energetic level.

Through dialogue we strengthen self-awareness, develop inner resources and initiate an awareness process – a valuable journey to greater well-being and inner balance.

How does Craniosacral Therapy work?

The therapist's centered presence, the slow pace of the session the creation of a healing field allow the nervous system to enter a deep state of relaxation. Therefore, craniosacral therapy is particularly well-suited for finding peace and experiencing profound healing.

In this state, the immune system is strengthened, among other things, and the body can initiate a process of self- regulation . Sometimes this self-regulation occurs in silence – sometimes old patterns, repressed emotions, or unprocessed shocks surface.

We approach what arises mindfully, in the here and now, and at your own pace. As the process unfolds, it usually results in a new sense of well-being – greater centeredness, vitality, and confidence.

Craniosacral therapy and westen medicine

Craniosacral therapy has proven effective for a wide range of symptoms and complements conventional medicine in a holistic way – especially when purely structural or drug-based approaches are insufficient. It can provide support for pain, stress, anxiety, and exhaustion . Furthermore, it strengthens the nervous and immune systems , promotes healing after accidents or surgeries , and offers  physical relief and emotional support during pregnancy. Scientific studies confirm its positive effects: A meta-analysis from 2020, for example, suggests that craniosacral therapy can have positive effects on pain intensity and functional capacity in chronic pain patients, lasting up to six months.

Craniosacral Therapy for children and Teenagers

Craniosacral therapy works particularly well with children and young people because their energy system is very adaptable. They usually respond to this form of treatment quickly. Even if they are initially skeptical, many children enjoy the peace and relaxation during the session, some even fall asleep. In stressful phases such as school stress, exams or family conflicts, the therapy helps to restore inner balance. Craniosacral Therapy promotes self-regulation, is safe and non-invasive. It is particularly helpful for headaches, back pain or stomach aches, sleep disorders, ADHD, aggression, anxiety and concentration problems. I treat children from kindergarten age. For babies and toddlers, I recommend two colleagues who specialize in this age group.

What clients say...

Helga M.

I had cranio and fascia therapy with Geneviève and had a really good experience. My quality of life improved drastically in just 4 weeks. She was able to identify and resolve old tensions caused by poor posture in no time. The simple and effective exercises to do at home are great. I can highly recommend them.

Veronika K.

Genevieve's craniosacral treatment is a lasting memory for me. I don't think I have ever experienced so impressively what it means to be in harmony with emotions, mind and body. The beautiful and powerful image that I got during the treatment has remained deeply etched in my mind and has stayed with me ever since. She is an exceptional body therapist and I can recommend her 100%.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻

I can wholeheartedly recommend Geneviève Debry's holistic treatment. It has always helped me with acute migraine attacks and my knee problems have now completely disappeared. After each treatment you also feel very balanced and calm.
